8 Miles to St. Paul, the latest song from audio:erosion, is a true story about one Tuesday in April, a long time ago when I lived in Canada.
My band was playing in St.Paul, Alberta for the week so in order to save money the drummer and I drove back to Edmonton after the gig Monday night to drop the rental truck off. We then took the Greyhound bus back to St.Paul on Tuesday morning – or that was the plan…
I arrived at the bus station on time only to see the bus leaving – 10 minutes early! The next bus wouldn’t get me there in time for the first set, so I flagged down a cab, gave the driver my bus fare and asked him to take me in the direction of the highway to St.Paul until my money ran out (which it did, but he kindly drove me the rest of the way to the highway anyway).
Once I got to the highway I stuck out my thumb…
